An observation by a friend at a party last Saturday:

Ever notice that whenever there is a multiple murder or some other such tragedy, and the neighbors of the culprit are interviewed, they always describe the person as "A quiet guy. Kind of a loner."

Isn't that how everyone is describing Supreme Court nominee Judge Souter? Hmmm...
