Many are wondering at why eBay decided to pay somewhere between 2.8 and 4 billion dollars to purchase Voice-over-Internet company Skype. Most find the price astounding, including wall street. The answer is that several companies were bidding to buy Skype. However, just 10 seconds before the bidding closed, eBay decided to quickly place a super-high bid in order to grab the auction, and overdid it.
