On NPR this morning there was a story about a cow, escaped from a slaughterhouse, that is now something of a celebrity, and is being housed in a special barn with a TV and a VCR. "What," I muttered, "would a cow want with a TV and a VCR?" My wife's son didn't miss a beat: "Maybe to watch moo-vies?"
