After looking up a few legal phrases I've heard, related to issues in my divorce, I decided that since I was already at that site I would double-check some other terms I was only "pretty sure" I understood. It turns out that the editor of the on-line lexicon I'd been using has a sense of humor: One of the definitions given for the term "pro se" is "Latin for 'you lose.' "
