I'm working through grading a Data Structures exam and one of the questions has two parts:

(2 points) What is the time complexity <etc. --- details unimportant> (3 points) _How did you arrive at this?_

I've gotten several responses like "It was discussed several times in class."

Hmmmm. That really WASN'T the intent of the question, but one could say that they did answer it correctly!
